What Our Cadets Say Curious about the NJROTC? The file in the File box, below, called "What Our Cadets Say" contains comments from current cadets about what they like about the NJROTC. We think the NJROTC is a great program, but don't take our word for it. Read what our cadets say about their program, then talk to your counselor or one of the NJROTC Instructors about joining the fun. WE ARE NOT MILITARY RECRUITRS!!!
Sail and Leadership Academy GraduatesFour PHS NJROTC Cadets graduated from Sail and Leadership Academies.
HOMEWORKAll homework and references will be listed in the "FILES" section, below, in a folder for that subject. For instance, the aviation study materials and project sheets are in the folder "AVIATION."
What is NJROTC??? NJROTC introduces students to the meaning of citizenship, the elements of leadership, and the value of scholarship in attaining life goals.
It should be emphasized that NJROTC is NOT a military recruiting organization, that we DO NOT prepare high school students for military service, and that we DO NOT share student information with any military recruiters.
NJROTC engenders a sound appreciation for the heritage and traditions of America, with recognition that the historically significant role of sea power will still be important in America’s future.
NJROTC is taught in a military format because it works best to help students develop a growing sense of pride in his/her organization, associates, and self. Cadets learn important leadership principles such as how to manage time, how to give and receive instructions, how to communicate effectively, how to motivate people, how to work as a team, and how to accept responsibility. Cadets receive instruction in Nautical Sciences such as navigation, meteorology, and first aid, as well as military drill and ceremonies.
Competitive team extracurricular activities are available after school. The NJROTC teams compete against other JROTC units in regional and national competitions in military drill, academics, physical fitness, orienteering, and marksmanship.
You can listen to what Administrators, Parents and Cadets around the nation have to say about their NJROTC experience by using the links provided here (or use your browser to navigate to https://www.njrotc.navy.mil/video.asp) to view the video "FACES OF NJROTC." Files
